Total Isolation Flange Gasket Set

Total Isolation Flange Gasket Set

The Engineering Problem:
Buried pipelines in the U.S. act like giant antennas for “stray” electrical currents from the soil or nearby power grids. When these currents jump between two metal flanges, they create a galvanic cell (the “battery effect”) that dissolves the steel at the molecular level. This “internal” corrosion is invisible until the pipe wall finally thins out and ruptures, leading to environmental disasters and strict federal fines.

Our Specialized Solution:
Our Total Isolation Kit provides a 100% electrical “break” to stop this current. The heart of the system is a Full-Face (Type E) gasket made of G-10 Glass-Reinforced Epoxy. Unlike standard gaskets, this kit includes Mylar isolating sleeves and G-10 washers for every single bolt. This ensures that no part of the two flanges—not even the bolts—ever touches the other. It effectively turns the pipeline into two separate, non-conductive segments, stopping the corrosion process instantly while providing a high-pressure mechanical seal.

Ideal Applications:

  • Infrastructure: Buried natural gas mains and interstate petroleum pipelines.
  • Marine: Offshore oil platforms and subsea pipeline connections.
  • Compliance: Systems requiring NACE SP0286 cathodic protection standards.
